During the 20th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings at Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings’ Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina scored 17 runs off a Rashid Khan over to provide much-needed momentum to the Super Kings’ innings.

Kane Williamson, captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, had won the toss and chose to field. The home team had included Ricky Bhui and Billy Stanlake in the playing eleven. Shikhar Dhawan, who was injured in the last match, missed this match citing the same injury. Chennai Super Kings had included Faf du Plessis in place of Imran Tahir.

Rayudu, who came in to bat at No. 4 in the eighth over, changed the course of the innings for his team. Carrying on his good form, Rayudu did not let the demotion in the batting order affect his game. He played an instrumental role in raising the run rate in an innings which saw the top three of his team struggling.

Rashid Khan, who was bowling his third over, went for 17 runs as Rayudu didn’t even spare one of the top T20 bowlers in the world. On the third ball of the 16th over, Rayudu read a Rashid Khan googly to dispatch it over the midwicket boundary for a four.

On the following delivery, Rayudu unleashed a slog sweep over the same region for a six. The last ball of the over saw Raina hitting a googly for a four through the long-off region.
