During the 29th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Andre Russell bowled a mixed over which saw him going for a six and dismissing Mandeep Singh.
Dinesh Karthik, captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, had won the toss and chose to field. The Knight Riders decided to field an unchanged playing eleven. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore included Brendon McCullum, Manan Vohra, Tim Southee & Murugan Ashwin. AB de Villiers, Corey Anderson, Pawan Negi and Washington Sundar.
In which was Russell’s third over, Virat Kohli welcomed him with a much-needed six on the leg side. On the third delivery of the over, Mandeep Singh hit a Russell delivery to Shivam Mavi at deep midwicket, who grabbed a great take at the boundary.
Colin de Grandhomme replaced Mandeep Singh in the middle. On the penultimate delivery of the over, Kohli mis-timed a pull shot to deep midwicket to run a couple of runs to complete his 33rd IPL half-century. On the following delivery, Kohli thwacked a slower Russell delivery over the deep midwicket boundary for another six.
