Apart from the runs scored and the wickets taken, the ongoing 11th season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) is gaining news for the substandard quality of umpire that is prevailing.
From on-ground decisions to decision by the third umpire, umpires have made poor decisions despite the advent of so many technological advances which bring many individual to the thought as to what the exact usage of technology is.
Something similar which happened tonight during the 41st match of this season between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
On the penultimate delivery of the 16th over, umpire KN Ananthapadmanabhan ruled a Tom Curran delivery as a no-ball. The replays showed that almost half of Curran’s foot was inside the line.
Right from everyone on the ground to the Knight Riders’ dugout, disappointment was prevailing all round to the extent that a message had come from the dressing room. However, the rules of the game do not allow an umpire to change such a decision.

The reason @MClarke23 is a personal favourite is because he calls spade a spade. Said The no ball call was not a mistake, it was a disgrace. And he was spot on.

That’s our job buddy, see it and make a call. Horrible umpiring on this occasion and with all the technology in our game these days it should be overturned https://t.co/1ovnOlac4H
