During the 26th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Delhi, Delhi Daredevils’ Avesh Khan got rid of Andre Russell, who at one point in time seemed to cause danger to Delhi’s chances of winning the match.

After Dinesh Karthik won the toss and put the home team in to bat, the Daredevils scored a brutal 219-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Their innings was chiefly powered by Prithvi Shaw’s maiden IPL half-century and Shreyas Iyer’s ninth IPL half-century.

In the second innings, the Knight Riders’ batsmen followed each other to the dressing room. Their top order fell like a pack of cards, which reduced their chances of sealing this 220-run chase.

It was a 64-run partnership between Shubman Gill and Andre Russell which brought back Kolkata into the match narrowly. That being said, a flurry of wickets again hit them. One batsman to fall amongst this second set of batsmen was the danger man in Andre Russell.

He got out on the penultimate delivery of the 18th over after an Avesh Khan delivery cleaned him all ends up. He ended up scoring 44 (30) with the help of three fours and four sixes.

Avesh became so furious after dismissing Russel that he even abused the Windies all-rounder as well.
