Delhi Daredevils (DD) fast bowler Avesh Khan played his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) match for his team in the 11th edition of the IPL against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
He did not have a chance to bowl to an in-form Chris Gayle who missed out the match due to a sore back. Australian opener Aaron Finch had a chance to prove himself in the absence of Gayle but his innings was stopped by Avesh’s pace and movement.
Avesh’s bowling clocked over 140 kmph on a consistent basis, which is quite impressive for an Indian fast bowler. Finch decided to play an attacking lofted drive against him on the third delivery of his over but could not time it properly. The ball could only travel to covers, where Shreyas Iyer gobbled it up.
Here’s delivery Avesh bowled clocked at 148.7 kmph:

Finch has been going through a rough patch in the ongoing season of IPL. He already missed out the first few games because of his wedding. Even after he joined the squad, he got out for ducks in the first two games he played.

Later in the spell, although Avesh got tonked for a few boundaries, he made a sterling comeback by getting rid of Yuvraj Singh was a fast length ball which zipped past the defence of the left-hander.
