During the 47th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Mumbai, Mumbai Indians’ Evin Lewis hit back to back sixes off Shreyas Gopal to further strengthen his team’s position.

Earlier Ajinkya Rahane, captain of Rajasthan Royals, had won the toss and chose to field. Rajasthan Royals made three changes to their playing eleven, bringing in D’Arcy Short, Shreyas Gopal and Dhawal Kulkarni in place of Prashant Chopra, Anureet Singh and Ish Sodhi. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians fielded an unchanged playing eleven.

Suryakumar Yadav and Lewis started in the affirmative for their team, scoring 51-0 in the powerplay. Gopal was introduced into the attack in the first over after the powerplay. In which was his second over, the ninth of the innings, he conceded 17 runs.

On the first ball of the over, Gopal bowled a full ball on the leg-side which was hit ferociously flat by Lewis over the deep square leg fielder for a six. The next ball saw the batsman going down the ground as he hit Gopal for another six over long-off.
