IPL 2018: Ben Duckett Badly Trolled For Commenting On RCB, Later Clarifies His Words

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) hasn’t had a memorable season last year in the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They were standing at the bottom of the table after the league matches and and struggled throughout the entire season. Coming into the eleventh edition of the IPL, Virat Kohli and his men were determined to turn around their fortunes on Sunday against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

RCB was the hot favorite ahead of the game as they had the most explosive batting lineup. However, the hosts managed to comprehensively defeated Kohli’s team to register their maiden victory. After winning the toss, KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik decided to field first. However, the experienced batting line-up of RCB managed to set a target of 175 to the hosts.

A lot of credit for the win goes to the young Nitish Rana as he not only scored runs during the chase but also picked two crucial wickets of AB de Villiers and Kohli on two consecutive deliveries. However, after the conclusion of the match, the English batsman Ben Duckett took to Twitter and termed RCB as a ‘joke’. The southpaw batsman got severely trolled for his opinion on the match, here are the reactions:

However, Ben didn’t realized what struck him as he was surprised by the reactions he got from the fans all over the world responded to his tweet. He didn’t mean to infuriate the RCB fans. He clarified his comment on Monday morning. Clarifying the twee,t, Duckett said, “Woken up to these and many more horrible messages. Yesterday I referred to RCB as a ‘joke’ meaning they have such a good side with the likes of de Kock, de Villiers, Kohli, McCullum and lots of other world-class players. These types of messages are not acceptable.”
