The fourth week of the IPL 2018 was all about teams at the bottom of the table trying to keep themselves alive against the toppers. Thus many captains were stretched to think about the team combinations and strategies. In fact, in few such encounters, the bottom teams managed to defeat the toppers with ease. The trend of the matches in this week of the IPL was a high-scoring one. Kings XI Punjab did not play even a single match in this week. Here is how the captains of the IPL teams did this week.

Chennai Super Kings – MS Dhoni – Rating 9/10

The Thala emerged out with all his superpowers intact as he once again looks like the Dhoni we once knew. He was hitting the balls cleanly and ended the chases in this season with his brain working like a supercomputer. His captaincy was very pro-active and he accepted the shortcomings of the team also.

MS Dhoni has usually been reluctant to make wholesale changes to the team but this time he has made frequent changes to suit the team chances. Although a few changes have gone against them, Dhoni’s captaincy has been spot-on. The only critic will be him having Shardul bowl in the second last over against Mumbai.
