IPL 2018: Catch Unadkat Bowled Archer (twice)

During the 47th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Mumbai, after a superb start, Mumbai Indians’ lost two wickets in two balls to bring back the match in balance. What was intriguing about the dismissal was that both the times the ball went to Jaydev Unadkat at fine-leg off Jofra Archer.

Earlier Ajinkya Rahane, captain of Rajasthan Royals, had won the toss and chose to field. Rajasthan Royals made three changes to their playing eleven, bringing in D’Arcy Short, Shreyas Gopal and Dhawal Kulkarni in place of Prashant Chopra, Anureet Singh and Ish Sodhi. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians fielded an unchanged playing eleven.

Unadkat took a low catch to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav off Archer.

Suryakumar Yadav and Lewis started in the affirmative for their team, scoring 51-0 in the powerplay. Their 87-run partnership was broken in the 11th over by Archer, who was introduced into the attack as the first change bowler in the third over.

On the fourth delivery of the 11th over, Suryakumar Yadav pulled a short delivery high in the air only to be taken by Unadkat inches off the ground at fine-leg. He scored 38 (31) with the help of seven fours. Watch the video:

Rohit Sharma, captain of Mumbai Indians, came in to bat at No. 3. On the first ball that he faced, he hit a well-timed pull straight to Unadkat who took a sensational catch. Watch the video:
