During the 38th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajsthan Royals (RR) at Indore, Kings XI Punjab’s Chris Gayle dived forward to take a catch which put a halt to Ajinkya Rahane’s innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin, captain of Kings XI Punjab, won the toss and chose to field. Kings XI once again dropped Yuvraj Singh in place of Manoj Tiwary. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals included Anureet Singh in place of Dhawal Kulkarni.

Rajasthan Royals continued with the recently formed opening pair of Jos Buttler and D’Arcy Short. Losing Short (2) in the first over itself, they didn’t get off to a start that they would have liked. Things didn’t improve for them as the next batsman in also fell without contributing much.

Ajinkya Rahane came out to bat at No. 3. On the fourth delivery of the fourth over, he edged an Axar Patel delivery to Gayle at short third-man. The ball was dying upon the Universe Boss, which was why he had to put in the extra effort to take the catch. Rahane ended up scoring 5 (7).
