During the 41st match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Chris Lynn had to walk back to the pavilion after he was involved in a terrible mix-up with Robin Uthappa.

After Dinesh Karthik won the toss and put the visitors into bat, Mumbai Indians scored 210-6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Mumbai Indians posted the highest-ever IPL score, which depicts that what they achieved wasn’t that easy.

In the second innings, Kolkata Knight Riders never really found the momentum which was required to chase a 211-run target. Apart from losing wickets to the opposition, two additional run-outs (Chris Lynn and Dinesh Karthik) did not help the Knight Riders’ case.

Karthik came in to bat at No. 6 in the eighth over. On the first delivery of the 10th over, Nitish Rana hit a Hardik Pandya delivery to point. JP Duminy, who was fielding at point, collected the ball neatly and threw it back to Hardik Pandya at the non-striker’s end where Karthik was struggling to reach.

There was a doubt regarding whether Hardik Pandya dislodged the bail with his hand before the ball came to him. However, after certain replays, it was evident that he was in contact of the ball when he dislodged the bails. Karthik ended up scoring 5 (3).
