On Wednesday night, the Eliminator match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). The winner of the match will advance for the Qualifier 2 while the loser of the match will be eliminated from this tournament. But what will happen if the match washout due to rain?

Eden Gardens (Kolkata)

According to the weather report, there is a high chance for rain interruption in the game. Moreover, there is a forecast of a thunderstorm at 10 pm which can also affect the game.

If the rain-interruption becomes the part of the game, we can see the over-reduction after the certain period of time. For a match result, the condition should be eligible for at least 5-over per-side game. But if the rain washes out the full game or their interruption creates no result in the game, what will happen.

Surprisingly, there is no reserve day for this important game. It means the top-placed team in the final points table will advance to the next round if the rain plays a spoilsport.

At the end of the points table, KKR finished at the third position with 16 points while RR finished at the fourth position with 14 points. It clearly means that the KKR will advance for the Qualifier 2 if there is no match result.

Meanwhile, RR will be unlucky to be knocked out from the tournament despite not getting their deserving chance.

The Qualifier 2 will be played on Friday (May 25) at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). The winner of today’s match will advance in the Qualifier 2 and will meet against the losing team of Qualifier 1 that was played on last night at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai) between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In the Qualifier 1, CSK snatched a dramatic 2-wicket victory (with 5 balls to spare) after successfully chasing the 140-run target which was set by SRH. With that result, the winner CSK reached the final and the loser SRH will now have to play the Qualifier 2 against the tonight’s winner.

The winner of Qualifier 2 will meet against CSK in the final of IPL 2018 which will be played on this Sunday (May 27) at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai).
