Mayank Markande

Mayank Markande was just a domestic player playing some list A games and T20 matches for Punjab. But in the 2018 IPL auctions, Mumbai Indians bought him. It was no less than a dream start for Mayank as he in the first game against Chennai Super Kings took two heavyweight wickets of Dhoni and Rayudu. Dhoni was totally startled by the ball and the boy lived his moment. He took three wickets in the first game.

Mayank Markande, IPL’s newest sensation

In the second game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the story was same but the protagonists were different. Mumbai put up a low score on board but Dhawan and Saha took on a charge of the first ball itself. Mumbai was lagging behind when the 20-year-old came with his spin and broke the partnership. Saha, Dhawan, Shakib, and Manish all fell for his spin attack and returned back. Though Mumbai lost both the matches but Mayank have shined through.

With seven wickets in his name he now holds the purple cap. He was smashed in the Delhi game but let’s hope that the young sensation will come out strong.
