The umpiring has gone for a beating in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to the extent that there have been numerous incidents of them making silly decision, both on the field and off it. Upon careful observation, one comes across the fact that the Indian umpires have been mostly at fault in this season.
Another such incident happened during the 18th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at Kolkata. Ravichandran Ashwin, captain of Kings XI Punjab, had called up Andrew Tye to bowl the last over of the powerplay.
On the first delivery itself, the umpire called the ball as a no-ball. After the replays were shown on the screen, everyone came across the fact that Tye’s foot was well within the limits and that the umpire had made a blunder. As per the rule, Chris Lynn was given a free-hit on the next ball.

The question which was raised by many pundits was that why the umpire can’t consult the third umpire in such matters. People took on Twitter to express their disappointment on the issue. Watch some of the reactions:
It’s not a No Ball. Free Hit for nothing. C’mon, can the third-umpire not step in? Make it possible please. #Tye #KKRvKXIP #IPL

You use the help of the TV umpire to check whether it is a no ball or not when a batsman is out. Why can't it be used when a no ball is wrongly given? The bowler has to go through the free-hit punishment next ball. Bowlers are truly second class citizens of cricket.
