Delhi Daredevils (DD) captain Gautam Gambhir, who is playing at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata against Kolkata Knight Riders after 7 seasons in the Indian Premier League (IPL) because he was playing for the KKR squad from last seven editions of Ipland he has given the team twice in the IPL Has won the title.
In the IPL 2012, Gautam Gambhir led KKR to lift their maiden IPL trophy but the team could not defend their title in 2013, after which again in 2014 Gautam Gambhir led the team for the second time got the title of the IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders did not have Gambhir for the 11th season of IPL, after which he once again joined his older franchise Delhi Daredevils in the team during the auction, and now he is now the captain Daredevils team and now will be leading them at the Eden Gardens to play their fourth match of this season.

After reaching Kolkata, Gautam Gambhir has posted a video out of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport on social media, in which many fans were standing outside the airport at the reception of this former Knight Riders skipper. He wrote an emotional tweet after his arrival, he wrote, “The air smells familiar, faces look friendly, from ‘Gauti paaji’ all of a sudden I’ve become ‘Gautam Da’…..am I at my erstwhile home? @DelhiDaredevils @ipl @bcci #DilDilli #Dhadkega”.

However, KKR CEO Venky Mysore also welcomed his former skipper gracefully, as he tweeted, “Welcome Gauti! Great to have you back in Kolkata! Pl always consider this as your home. Look forward to a fine game today. @GautamGambhir @KKRiders #KKRvDD #KKRHaiTaiyaar”.
