During the 55th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Delhi, Delhi Daredevils’ Glenn Maxwell displayed brilliance on the field as he grabbed a couple of outstanding catches.

After Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat, Delhi Daredevils scored 174-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. After losing their openers cheaply in the powerplay, Rishabh Pant stood tall to score his eighth IPL half-century, rescuing his team from a spot of bother.

Maxwell, who has had a poor season with the bat, didn’t let his poor form affect his fielding. On the first delivery of the 10th over, Kieron Pollard hit a fuller Sandeep Lamichhane delivery flat towards the long-on region. Maxwell ran to his left and took a reverse-hand catch. The momentum would have easily taken him over the boundary. Citing the same in mind, Maxwell jumped, throwing the ball towards Trent Boult who had  come-in from long-off. Boult completed the formalities as Pollard walked back to the pavilion. He ended up scoring 7 (7). Watch the video:

On the penultimate delivery of the 14th over, Rohit Sharma hit a Harshal Patel delivery once again towards Glenn Maxwell at long-on. Maxwell put on display a replica of his previous catch. Co-incidentally, he again had Boult running towards him from long-off. The duo stitched an unusual partnership to dismiss Mumbai’s captain. Sharma scored 13 (11) with the help of one four.
