What is that one name that always comes to your mind when you think of T20? Chris Gayle! TheWest Indian beast who has got the power of hitting each ball out of the park needs no introduction. Gayle has been an IPL superstar as he started his journey with KKR and then played for a long time with RCB. This year after going unsold in the final round, he was grabbed in by Preity Zinta’s Kings XI Punjab.

Kings XI Punjab has made a whole new team putting Ashwin as their captain. In their first match against Delhi DareDevils, they had a comfortable win against Delhi thanks to K L Rahul’s fastest fifty in just 14 balls. Although the power hitter star Yuvraj Singh got a chance to play in the team in the first match, Gayle was not seen coming down with his willow.

“It was a management decision to go with the combination we felt was right. Once we got the combination right, we wanted to trust it and go ahead with it.” said team captain Ashwin when he was asked about Gayle’s selection.

Gayle has always been any teams first choice as the man has an excellent statistics and skills. but few years the line Gayle has failed to deliver much resulting in people doubting his consistency. In such a time former Australian Star Pacer Brett Lee had an interview with Gayle where he voiced his eagerness to perform again and put people in surprise.

“I had a good net session in the last couple of days, fitting in perfectly with the guys,” the Jamaican said. “I am looking forward to an opportunity to go in the middle. I am going to wait patiently and see how it comes along.” said the 38 years old West Indies player.

“I am fit and still hungry for the game. The fans always want to see entertainment as much as possible, so I am trying to stay around for as long as possible. Whenever I go to bat, everyone expects me to score a hundred or hit lot of sixes. Given an opportunity, I’ll do my thing again,” he concluded.

We indeed have no doubt and want to again witness Gayle Storm soon and what could be better than in Chinnaswamy Stadium against his former team Royal Challengers Bangalore.
