During the 14th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mumbai, Mumbai Indians’ wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan received a nasty blow on his face as he was hit by a throw from Hardik Pandya.
The unfortunate incident took place on the fourth delivery of the 13th over. Virat Kohli had pulled a Jasprit Bumrah delivery through the midwicket region. Hardik Pandya was fielding at deep midwicket, ran in form his position to collect the ball and throwback to the wicket-keeper.
A poor throw from Hardik Pandya saw the ball bouncing in front of Kishan in an awkward manner. Unable to cope up with the bounce, the ball his Kishan on his face. The 19-year old wicket-keeper fell on the ground right away, needing immediate medical attention.
After he was catered to by the team doctor, Kishan had to walk out of the ground with a swollen face. Aditya Tare replaced as the wicket-keeper in the middle.
