During the ninth match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils at Mumbai, Delhi Daredevils openers Jason Roy and Gautam Gambhir scored 21 runs off a Hardik Pandya over in Daredevils’ chase of 195 runs.
Roy, who was included in the side today in place of Colin Munro, looked in supreme touch from the word go. Chasing a high target such as this, he did not waste time at the start and started with his business from the word go.
Hardik Pandya, who took the new ball for the Indians, proved out to be expensive as he leaked 32 runs in his first two overs. On the first delivery of his second over, the fifth of the innings, Gambhir greeted Hardik Pandya with a for a four through the square leg region.
With a single on the second ball, Gambhir gave the strike to Roy, who hit a Hardik Pandya slower delivery for a six over long-on. If this was not enough, Roy followed it up with a monstrous six over the leg side.
Riding high on his form, Roy sent another Hardik Pandya slower one for a four over the bowler’s head. Watch the full video:
