During the 19th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils at Bengaluru, Delhi Daredevils’ Jason Roy took a diving catch to make early inroads into the Royal Challengers’ batting line-up.

After Virat Kohli sent the Daredevils in to bat, the visitors scored 174-5 on the back of Rishabh Pant’s fourth IPL half-century in their allotted quota of 20 overs. The Royal Challengers had included Manan Vohra in their playing eleven in place of Sarfaraz Khan.

Roy took a diving catch.

Vohra, who came in to open the innings alongside Quinton de Kock, did not last long as he took the walk back to the pavilion in the second over. Gautam Gambhir’s smart ploy of making Glenn Maxwell open the bowling alongside Trent Boult had paid-off after this wicket.

It happened on the last ball of the second over when Vohra played a half-hearted sweep against Shahbaz Nadeem. The top-edged shot went high into the air towards Roy at deep square leg. Roy ran in from the boundary to complete a diving catch. Vohra ended up scoring 2 (5).
