During the 31st match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians’ JP Duminy was found wanting against an Umesh Yadav throw which had put curtains on his uninspired innings.

After Rohit Sharma won the toss and put the Royal Challengers in to bat, the home team rode heavily on Manan Vohra’s enterprising 45 (31). After the young man got out, Brendon McCullum and Virat Kohli looked set to play a substantial innings for their match. Having said that, the wicket of McCullum followed by Hardik Pandya taking three wickets in an over dented the home team to a great extent. Colin de Grandhomme’s late burst propelled the Royal Challengers to 167-7 in 20 overs.

In the second innings, just when Mumbai Indians were recovering from an initial slump, they lost their fifth wicket in the form of Duminy. It happened on the final delivery of the 12th over when Duminy cut an Colin de Grandhomme delivery to deep point.

The desperate need of runs urged the batsmen to run a couple of runs. Coming back for the second run, Duminy took on Umesh Yadav’s arm, but was seen struggling to make his ground at the batsman’s end. He ended up scoring 23 (29) with the help of three fours.
