IPL 2018 has seen a lot of changes pertaining to the large auction this year. Though teams were given freedom to retain just three players and rest to use RTM later. RCB retained Chahal, Virat Kohli, and AB De Villiers. RCB has always built up a strong team yet failed to live it up to expectations. This year management tried hard to build up a balanced team but not much help.
Virat Kohli was determined to make it huge for RCB this time. Though RCB individual performances were coming off well with likes of Umesh Yadav, Chahal, Virat and ABD yet the teamwork was seen missing. But surprisingly the ex RCB players like KL Rahul and Chris Gayle who were surprisingly not retained by the franchise are doing pretty well in other teams.
Both these players have been brought by Kings I Punjab. Punjab is now among top four teams in the table giving astounding performance under Ashwin’s captaincy. Rahul is in great form thrashing each ball out of the park. The surprising factor being Gayle who is scoring every day with his beast mode on. He was bought in the auction at last by Sehwag and co. And who would have to know the universal boss to hit the first century of 2018?
After defeating Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens by D/L method due to heavy downpour the Kings were elated. Half the damage was done by the two Rahul and Christopher Henry Gayle. RCB’ slogan this year is “Ee sala cup namde”, which means “Cup is ours this year”. In a video of after match, KL Rahul is seen along with Karun Nair to mock RCB for not retaining them. The video has gone viral on the internet.

The team has till date lost a single match out of 5 matches played and hopefully look to hold the momentum in the team. They will next lock horns with Delhi Daredevils.
