During the 54th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Manish Pandey got hold of a masterly catch the boundary to dismiss Chris Lynn.
After Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 172-5 in the allotted quota of 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan’s 32nd IPL half-century laid the foundation for the others to score big off. However, the Sunrisers would have thought of scoring more than they eventually did.
Opening the batting for the Knight Riders alongside Sunil Narine, Lynn got his eye in before going for his shots. Having adjusted well to the pace and bounce of the pitch, he accumulated runs to register his sixth IPL half-century. His innings was brought to an end by Siddarth Kaul, who was introduced into the attack as the first-change bowler in the third over.
On the first delivery of his third over, the 14th of the innings, he bowled a delivery in Lynn’s zone, who smacked it towards the long-on fielder in Pandey. Not losing his balance or cool, Pandey kept focused to grab the catch. Lynn ended up scoring 55 (43) with the help of four fours and three sixes.
