3. Sunil Narine – How will Williamson tackle him

Two years ago, Sunil Narine, the mysterious bowler was making every batsman look like a fool with the bag full of tricks of the spin variations. In a revolutionary move, Sunil Narine was sent to open the batting for the very first time by his Australian franchise team Melbourne Renegades and the rest, as they say, is a history.

Containing a batsman like Sunil Narine is no easy task. Consider him as a tailender and he will score a fifty before you take a look at the scorecard. He scored a fifty against Royal Challengers Bangalore and scored 12 from 4 balls against CSK with two huge sixes. SRH will have the challenge to keep him quiet.

4.Filling the Warner void

David
David Warner

The body blow for Sunrisers Hyderabad came in the third Test between Australia and South Africa at Newlands. David Warner proved the main conspirator behind the ball-tampering controversy and was handed a one-year ban by Cricket Australia.

The absence of Warner will not only affect the batting line-up of Sunrisers but he was also the captain who was guiding ship for the last two-three seasons. The IPL trophy was won under Warner’s captaincy. His fielding and winning-at-all-cost attitude will also be a sore miss for Hyderabad.

Kane Williamson is much calmer and will lead the team in keeping his composure. He has done well in the first two matches and has handled things well.  Will that be successful or not in the season remains to be seen as time passes by.

5.Opening combinations

Sunrisers
Alex Hales

SRH had a solid opening partnership last season which was one of the major reason for their success. The ‘David Dhawan’ combination took on the opposing bowlers without holding back and instilled early control in the matches. SRH don’t have David Warner this time though.

The replacement of the Aussie opener is the English opener, Alex Hales. He has a century in T20 cricket but yet went unsold in the auction. This is the opportunity for Hales to grab the chance and established himself in the IPL.

As of now, SRH has an easy route with Wriddhimaan Saha but he has struggled in the outings. If Saha continues to struggle, Hales might prove to be a good option for Hyderabad.
