Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) began their IPL 2018 journey on Sunday at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium (Mohali, Chandigarh) where KXIP clinched a comfortable 6 wickets victory (with 7 balls to spare).

KXIP decided to bowl first after winning the toss. DD managed to put 166/7 on the board at the end of 20 overs which was chased down comfortably by KXIP in 18.5 overs after losing 4 wickets.

iv) Gautam Gambhir’s IPL career runs against KXIP is 726.

  • The second most career runs by any batsman against KXIP. The record holder is Chris Gayle with 797 runs against KXIP in IPL career.

 

v) DD scored 166/7 in 20 overs.

  • Second highest IPL total for DD against KXIP at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium (Mohali, Chandigarh). Their highest one was 172/5 on May 7, 2016.

 

vi) KL Rahul completed his half-century in just 14 balls.

  • Fastest ever IPL half-century. Previous record holder was Sunil Narine and Yusuf Pathan who had once completed their half-centuries in 15 balls.
  • The second fastest T20 half-century by an Indian batsman. The record holder is Yuvraj Singh with 12 balls half-century (it is also the record joint fastest T20 half-century) when he was playing for India against England in 2007 ICC World T20 (at Durban on September 19, 2007).
