Rajasthan Royals oversaw a brilliant finish as Mumbai Indians succumbed to another heart-breaking loss at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The defending champions batted first and scored 167/7 which looked a tad below but they made the most of it with Bumrah scripting the comeback. In the end, it was K.Gowtham who scored 33 runs from just 11 balls to seal a miraculous win.

K Gowtham.

The superlative innings played by K.Gowtham decided the fate of the match. RR needed 42 runs from 24 balls and Jasprit Bumrah took the ball in his hand. The finishing bowler bowled an unbelievable over as he gave away just one run and took two important wickets of Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler. The blows rocked Rajasthan Royals and almost sealed the match for Mumbai.

Mustafizur on his first ball nicked out Klaasen, this was a telling blow. Jofra Archer handled the next two balls. Gowtham took the strike on the fourth ball of the over. He took two runs of the ball. Next, he smashed the ball over the leg side for a six. Another boundary took the target down to 28 runs to 12 balls.

Bumrah then stepped up to bowl the penultimate over. The result of the over was beyond belief. The bowler who had just bowled the single-run-two-wicket over went for a whopping 18 runs. This included a no-ball. RR in the last over now needed 10 runs to win.

Hardik Pandya brought back MI with the wicket of Jofra Archer on the first ball of the last over. The strike, however, was taken by Gowtham for the next ball. He smashed four and a six to stun everyone watching. K.Gowtham won the match with 33* runs from 11 balls.

Earlier in the night, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians piled up 167/7 in their 20 overs against the Rajasthan Royals team. After losing Evin Lewis in the first over itself Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan dug Mumbai out of trouble. The duo put together a season-record partnership of 129 runs.

The Mumbai batting line-up crashed spectacularly after Archer struck thrice in an over. The bolts kept Mumbai below what they should have gotten after having such a brilliant start. Archer bowled an inspiring over of three wickets while Dhawal made a good comeback too.
