Revisiting the Last Match

The first match of the IPL 2018 between these two teams was played on 11th April but it ended on 12th April. The almost farcical midnight rain-hit encounter was hosted by Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. It was also the first instance in the IPL 2018 IPL where the team batting first won the match.

RR

Rajasthan Royals were asked to bat first, Ajinkya Rahane again played the role of the sheet anchor and was at the crease for the first 12 overs. Samson with his 37 off 25 balls provided the momentum. Buttler added crucial 29(18) to take RR at 153/5 in the 17th over.

The rain then interrupted the game and it was almost over. Very late, the match was restarted and DD had to chase 71 runs in 6 overs. They sent out all their big-hitters but they could not complete the task and felt 10 runs short.
