In the 32nd game of IPL 2018, hosts Delhi Daredevils (DD) secured a thrilling 4-run victory (D/L method) in the rain-interrupted game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Feroz Shah Kotla (Delhi) on Wednesday night. In the rain-interrupted game, DD put a total of 196/6 in 17.1 overs while RR had to chase 151 runs in 12 overs as per D/L method. However, the visitors were 5 runs short from the target as they scored 146/5 in 12 overs.
After winning the toss, Rajasthan skipper Ajinkya Rahane decided to bowl first before the first rain-interruption. Coming to play 18-over innings, the hosts DD played a firing innings as they were 196/6 in 17.1 overs before another rain-interruption.

In the Delhi innings, while opener Colin Munro was dismissed for a golden duck, another opener Prithvi Shaw and skipper Shreyas Iyer strengthen that innings with the 73-run partnership for the second wicket. Later, Iyer had another superb 92-run partnership with Rishabh Pant for the third wicket which provided a good total on the scoreboard for the hosts.
Young opener Prithvi scored a brilliant 47 runs off just 25 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes. Later, in-form batsmen Iyer and Pant both completed their half-centuries. Skipper Iyer scored 50 off 35 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes while Pant scored blistering 69 runs off 29 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes.
At the late moment, Vijay Shankar played a quick-fire cameo knock of 17 runs off just 6 balls.
Among the Rajasthan bowlers, Jaydev Unadkat (3/46) got three wickets while Dhawal Kulkarni (1/37), Jofra Archer (1/31) and Shreyas Gopal (1/26) picked up one wicket each.
After the rain delay, RR had a new target as they had to chase 151 runs in 12 overs.
Opener Jos Buttler began the RR innings in a thrashing way as he completed his half-century in just 18 balls, the fastest half-century in RR history. Buttler was dismissed for 67 runs off 26 balls with 4 fours and 7 sixes.
Another opener D’Arcy Short was struggling at the beginning but later he also played a quick-innings of 44 runs off 25 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes.

In the end, Krishnappa Gowtham tried hard to reach the target as he scored an unbeaten 18 off just 6 balls but failed on his mission. Rajasthan finished their innings on 146/5 in 12 overs as they lost the game by just 4-run.
In the very last ball, Gowtham had to hit a six for victory but DD left-arm pacer Trent Boult defended those runs very well.
Among the DD bowlers, Trent Boult (2/26) picked up two wickets while Amit Mishra (1/12) and Glenn Maxwell (1/21) picked up one wicket each.
