On Monday night, the hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) snatched a thrilling 5-run victory in a low-scoring game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad).

RCB captain Virat Kohli decided to bowl first after winning the toss. With the help of Kane Williamson and Shakib Al Hasan’s responsible batting, SRH managed to put 146 runs on the board after losing all ten wickets in the final ball of that innings.

In reply, all RCB batsmen struggled against the SRH bowlers as they only managed to score 141/6 at the end of 20 overs. SRH won this game by just 5 runs.

  • The second highest IPL fourth-wicket partnership for SRH against RCB. The record is the 80-run partnership between Cameron White and Thisara Perera at Bengaluru on April 9, 2013.

iii) SRH captain Kane Williamson scored 56 runs.

  • The second highest IPL knock by a SRH skipper against RCB at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad). The record is 92 runs by David Warner on April 30, 2016.

  • It was the first time when RCB bowled out SRH.

  • Best IPL bowling figure by a RCB bowler against SRH. The previous record was 4-0-27-3 by RP Singh at Bengaluru on April 9, 2013.

vii) RCB only managed to score 141/6 in 20 overs.

  • The second lowest IPL total for RCB against SRH. The lowest one is 130/8 (20 overs) at Hyderabad (Deccan) on April 7, 2013.

viii) RCB lost this game by 5 runs.

  • RCB second time lost an IPL game after bowling out their opponents. The first one was against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens (Kolkata) on April 23, 2017, when KKR was bowled out for just 131 runs but RCB was bundled out on just 49 runs in reply.
