On Tuesday night, hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR) clinched an important 15-run victory against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur).

Rajasthan captain Ajinkya Rahane decided to bat first after winning the toss. With the help of opener Jos Buttler’s superb batting performance, RR put a fighting total of 158/8 in 20 overs.

In reply, only KXIP opener KL Rahul batted strongly against the RR bowlers as the visitors managed to score only 143/7 at the end of 20 overs.

  • Joint best IPL bowling figure by a KXIP bowler against RR. Previously, Ryan Harris (4-0-34-4) had the exact same bowling figure at Mohali on May 5, 2012.

  • The second slowest IPL half-century by any batsman against RR. The slowest one is completing half-century in 49 balls by Murali Vijay (Chennai Super Kings) at Jaipur on May 12, 2013.
  • Joint third slowest IPL half-century by any KXIP batsman.
