Rajasthan Royals after scoring a victory over Chennai Super Kings in the last match at their home, now arrive at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai Indians who have been extremely impressive with their winning streak will be up against their Points table partner. This match will be a virtual knockout with the loser set to be out of the playoffs race. Here are the expected probable XI.
Rajasthan Royals
After staring down the barrel for quite a time, the win against Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings will definitely boost the Rajasthan Royals team. They now need to win all the three remaining matches to qualify for the playoffs and this will be a stern test.
In the last match, Jos Buttler scored his consecutive fourth IPL Fifty and almost one-handedly took RR past CSK. He has been in an incredible form ever since he has started opening for RR. Ish Sodhi was impressive for RR as well.
Royals tried Ben Stokes at the top with Jos Buttler. But he could not go on to score big. They also brought in Prashant Chopra and Ankit Sharma. Both disappointed with meager returns. Probable changes for this match are Dhawal Kulkarni and Shreyas Gopal in for Prashant Chopra and Ankit Sharma.
Probable XI-
Ajinkya Rahane (c), Stuart Binny, Jos Buttler (wk), Jaydev Unadkat, Ben Stokes, Ankit Sharma/Shreyas Gopal, Sanju Samson, Prashant Chopra/Dhawal Kulkarni, Ish Sodhi, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archery, Sam Billings, Shardul Thakur
Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians won their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders playing at the Eden Gardens. They now have won three consecutive matches as they also won against Kings XI Punjab at the Holkar Stadium, Indore. They are at the fifth spot in the points table now.
With the so many early losses, Mumbai Indians need to win every match from here on in the tournament. They will be pushing hard with the star-studded team they have and that they are the defending champions.
In the last match, they went in with an unchanged XI. Mumbai is likely to continue with the combination unless an injury springs up.
Playing XI
Jean-Paul Duminy, Rohit Sharma (c), Mitchell McClenaghan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ben Cutting, Evin Lewis, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan (wk), Krunal Pandya, Mayank Markande
