In the 48th game of IPL 2018, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) totally outplayed the hosts Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their important encounter at Holkar Cricket Stadium (Indore) on Monday night. KXIP was bundled out for just 88 runs in 15.1 overs which were chased down in a thrashing way by the visiting team in just 8.1 overs without losing any wicket.

RCB captain Virat Kohli decided to field first after winning the toss. KXIP openers KL Rahul and Chris Gayle provided a modest start before their batting line-up faced a massive collapse. While the openers had a 36-run partnership, there was no other partnership reached the 20-run mark.

While Rahul and Gayle were dismissed for 21 and 18 runs respectively, no.4 batsman Aaron Finch was the only other batsman to play the double-digit knock as he was the highest runs-scorer in that innings with 26 runs.

Among the last four dismissals, three were run-out. The disappointed batting resulted in 88 all out in that innings in just 15.1 overs.

RCB pacer Umesh Yadav claimed three wickets as his bowling figure was 4-0-23-3. Also, Mohammed Siraj (1/17), Yuzvendra Chahal (1/6), Colin de Grandhomme (1/8) and Moeen Ali (1/13) got one wicket each in that innings.

In reply, RCB skipper Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel comfortably secured the victory as they put an unbroken 92-run partnership for the opening wicket. Both were very comfortable in their attacking modes and chased that tiny total within a moment.

While Kohli was unbeaten on 48 runs off just 28 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes, Parthiv was not out on 40 runs off just 22 balls with 7 fours. Their batting helped RCB to reach the target in 8.1 overs without losing any wicket as they won by 10 wickets with 71 balls to spare.

None of KXIP bowlers was able to pick at least a wicket. Though they created few half chances, those were not gone in their favour. This victory helped RCB to stay alive in this tournament as they have still chance to qualify for the play-offs.
