It the turn of the Royal Challengers Bangalore to take on the Kings XI Punjab at the Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore. The most technologically advanced and one of the most state-of-the-art cricket stadiums in India, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium of Bangalore makes its debut in the IPL 2018. Royal Challengers Bangalore have not been able to win the IPL so far so have Kings XI Punjab. Will Royal Challengers Bangalore be able to make the most of the home conditions against the KXIP team remains to be seen.

1.First look at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2018

The M.Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore for a brief while was known as the Bowler’s graveyard. The shorter boundaries, faster outfields, dead pitch and altitude that carries the ball higher meant that 200+ run-chases were not far away and in fact, they were a reality in the IPL. Last season, the ground underwent major changes and the game became even, putting the bowlers back in the fray.

In 2017 also they suffered a lot of embarrassment, the most notable of them being all out on 49 in Kolkata. Their home ground was not the batting paradise anymore and with a not-so-lethal bowling attack, they suffered a great deal. This year, RCB will be raring to perform at their home ground in a grand way.

2. Return of Aaron Finch

KXIP – Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch holds the world record for the highest individual score in T20I cricket. Over the years, he has batted at various batting positions in the team so he becomes a valuable asset to any team that he walks in. Playing for Gujarat Lions in the 2017 season, Finch scored 300 runs in 13 matches at an impressive strike rate 163.

This year, he has been bought by Kings XI Punjab. Finch missed out on the first match since he was busy with his marriage proceedings. Now, he is back with the team but he may have to wait to get into the playing XI.
