In another thrilling affair at the Wankhede stadium, Delhi Daredevils managed to edge past the Mumbai Indians in another last ball rush. Mustafizur Rehman tried his best in defending 11 runs in the last over. He conceded 10 runs in his first two balls as Jason Roy went after the leather. The off-cutters from Rehman were again undecipherable as Roy struggled to connect. He then launched the final ball outside field circle to clinch a victory for DD.

Ishan Kishan

The afternoon match at the Wankhede stadium, Mumbai was full of fireworks as the home team Mumbai Indians raised a humongous total of 194/7 batting first against the Delhi Daredevils team. Surya Kumar Yadav top-scored with 53 from 32 balls with seven boundaries and one six. DD clawed back in the game with a brilliant finish and kept MI down to only 194 after it looked like 210 at one stage.

The turning point of the match arrived at the 15.4 overs for the Mumbai Indians in their first innings.
At that time Mumbai was cruising to a mammoth total. Surya Kumar had begun in a spectacular fashion and attacked the Delhi bowling ferociously. Evin Lewis was not quite at the other end as well. he also took part in the bashing and Mumbai’s train was running unhindered. By the end of the powerplay, Mumbai was 84/0.

After Surya and Lewis got out, the next surge of momentum came from Ishan Kishan. The unorthodox batsman smashed 44 runs from 23 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Ishan Kishan was dismissed by Dan Christian while Kishan was attempting a reverse sweep. Kishan revealed his full set of stumps, which Christian targeted and unsettled.

Once Ishan Kishan got out, Mumbai batsmen failed to capitalize on the start, Lots of slower balls and cutters reduced Mumbai to only 28 runs from last 26 balls with losing four wickets. 194/7 was at least 15-20 short from where they could have been. Delhi’s insane assault got them home on the last ball. Had Ishan Kishan survived a little longer, Mumbai Indians could have posted a match-winning total.
