During the 39th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Mohammad Siraj ended up being the pick of the bowlers for his team after he registered his best bowling figures of this season.

Virat Kohli, captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, had won the toss and chose to field. The Royal Challengers gave Moeen Ali an IPL debut and brought back Manan Vohra into the playing eleven in place of Brendon McCullum and Murugan Aswin. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad remained unchanged.

Siraj was introduced into the attack for the first time in the last over of the powerplay. Picking up the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan (13), he made an impression in his first over itself. His last over was his most productive one.

On the first delivery of the penultimate over of the innings, Yusuf Pathan (12) completely missed a Siraj delivery which went on to crash his stumps. Wriddhiman Saha, the man who replaced Pathan in the middle, backed away to hit a six off a pull through the long off region on the third ball of the over.

On the last ball of the over, Saha (8) tried to be too fancy as he attempted a ramp shot to a delivery which was bowled at a pace of 146 kph. Siraj’s double blow restricted the chances of the opposition building a game-changing last over. He registered bowling figures of 4-0-25-3. Watch the full video:
