During the 49th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Nitish Rana became another victim of the DRS after he was dismissed in the ninth over.

After Dinesh Karthik won the toss and put the visitors into bat, Rajasthan Royals was seen wasting a sensational start. They crumbled from 68-1 in the powerplay to 142 in 19 overs. Kuldeep Yadav (4-0-20-4) did most of the damage for the hosts.

The replays confirmed that Rana was out.

In the second innings, Sunil Narine’s burst in the initial over gave signs of the home team running away with the chase. However, Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers stood tall to put a halt against the run-scoring of the opposition.

Sodhi was introduced into the attack right after the power play ended. On the second delivery of his second over, he trapped Rana in front of the stump with a slower delivery which drifted away from the batsman. Umpire Kumar Dharmasena ruled the decision in favor of the batsman.

After Karthik opted for the review, it was evident from the replays that the ball would have gone to hit the stumps. Rana ended up scoring 21 (17) with the help of two fours and a six. Watch the full video:
