Nitish Rana, the Delhi domestic player was a part of the Mumbai Indian’s squad before but this year he is playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders. The youngster started his journey as a knight with a blaze in the first match only against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens.
Kolkata Knight Riders crafted their first game into perfection with Karthik leading from the front. When the partnership of AB Devilliers and Virat Kohli started to create nightmares for the purple army the skipper brought in Nitish Rana for an over and the rest is history. Two consecutive balls and two heavy names off the crease and result RCB tumbling under pressure finishing few runs short. Rana became a star, a story to be repeated ever since.
Narine ripped apart the RCB bowling attack scoring fifty off just 19 balls and Rana too didn’t disappoint with the bat adding 30 runs to the chase at Eden. Knights easily won the first game defeating RCB for the twelfth time in IPL. But Rana was elated on a different note to meet his team franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan for the first time in his life. He was a fanboy and just an applause from the team owner after his services on the win made his day. He didn’t speak much to the king of Bollywood but the actor’s smile and tap made him elated.
“No, I didn’t have much interaction with him. He was very busy in meeting people. I will go and talk to him. For now, I didn’t have much interaction with him. He said well-played and tapped me. It was a very big moment for me because I had never met SRK sir,” he said.
Nitish has been always phenomenal with his bat but his bowling skills were put to shine on Sunday. Hope he can deliver the best for KKR in upcoming matches and do a justice to the 3 crore auction buy. KKR will next take on Chennai at Chepauk today.
