During the 39th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Parthiv Patel departed after hitting a couple of boundaries off Shakib Al Hasan.

After Virat Kohli won the toss and put the home team in to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 146-10 in 20 overs. Their innings was powered by Kane Williamson’s eighth IPL half-century, fifth of this season, which came in a bowler-friendly friendly double-paced wicket.

In the second innings, the visitors too started on a shaky note, losing Parthiv Patel in the third over. Williamson introduced spin in the form of Shakib Al Hasan into the attack as the first change bowler.

On the third delivery of the third over, Parthiv Patel flicked a Shakib delivery for a boundary through the leg-side. On the following ball, he cleared mid-on without much discomfort, scoring fourth boundary. On the next ball, Shakib found Patel wanting in front of the stumps as the umpire ruled the batsman out. He ended up scoring 20 (13) with the help of four fours.
