During the 53rd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Jaipur, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Parthiv Patel had put on display his attacking instincts in the second over of the innings. The 33-year old southpaw hit Jofra Archer for a couple of sixes in an over.
After Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bat, Rajasthan Royals scored 164-5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. The Royals posting this total was mainly due to Rahul Tripathi’s career-best IPL performance.
Chasing 165 runs to win the match, Royal Challengers Bangalore sent in Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli to open the innings. Archer, who conceded 14 runs in his first over, opened the bowling alongside Krishnappa Gowtham.
On the first delivery of the second over, Archer bowled short delivery to Patel which the batsman ramped for a six behind the wicket-keeper. Watch the video:
