During the 32nd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Delhi, Delhi Daredevils’ Prithvi Shaw took on his senior statesman in Dhawal Kulkarni in the powerplay.

Ajinkya Rahane, captain of Rajasthan Royals, had won the toss and chose to field. Rajasthan had included D’Arcy Short and Shreyas Gopal into their playing eleven in place of Mahipal Lomror and Ish Sodhi. On the other hand, Delhi Daredevils made a solitary change, bringing back Shahbaz Nadeem in place of Rahul Tewatia.

In which an 18-over a side match, Delhi Daredevils did not get off to the best of starts. Dhawal Kulkarni, who opened the bowling for the Royals, dismissed Colin Munro (0) in the first over itself. However, Kulkarni’s second over saw him conceding 16 runs as Shaw hit him for a couple of sixes and a four.

Shaw started the over by flicking a leg-side delivery for a huge six over midwicket. A delivery later, he picked up length fairly quickly to hit another six through the long on region. On the penultimate delivery of the over, Shaw scored a boundary through the extra cover region.
