The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR), who is making a comeback in the ongoing season of IPL, will lock horns with another comeback team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 11. For that match, the hosts will be donning the new colors.
As a part of its ‘Cancer Out’ campaign, the Royals will be wearing a special jersey to raise awareness and appeal to the people of Rajasthan to come forward and join hands to support the noble cancer detection process.
On Wednesday, the franchise, along with Tata Trusts, launched a campaign named ‘Cancer Out’ in the state of Rajasthan to popularise cancer screening. It will be run with the support of the Government of Rajasthan, National Cancer Grid, Indian Cancer Society and Indian Dental Association in the state.
At the moment, ten cancer screening centers have been activated and will be open for the public to get themselves screened. As per the reports of Sportstar, RR’s executive chairman, Ranjit Barthakur said, “It is an initiative that all must support. It is for a noble cause, and we are hoping to get a good response.”
Though there are rumors that it could be pink, the jersey color is still not finalized. A final decision will be taken after trials and camera tests.
A lot of people ignore the signals their bodies give out which causes cancer, which leads to the disease spreading in the body and reaching the non-curable stages and involve complications. Outside of the IPL context too, there are several campaigns across the world which are trying to spread awareness about the deadly health condition.
Currently, the Rajasthan Royals ranked fifth on the points table, with 2 wins from 3 games under their belt. After missing out the tournament for two years, the franchise will be eager to put up impressive performances for their fans who had to do without them in 2016 and 2017.
