Cricket is an entertaining game but comes with pros and cons. Earlier we have witnessed major blows and accidents occurring in the 22yards. Last night in the game Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium had some similar scenes on the field. Ishan Kishan suffered from a nasty blow right under his right eye witha ball coming from Hardik Pandya. The incident kept the game to a halt for few minutes keeping the players and crowd perplexed.

Ishan Kishan was immediately walked off the field. The captain, Rohit Sharma said that such an event was not expected and pretty ‘unfortunate’. Rohit, when asked about an update on Ishan’s injury, said that he is now doing well and the team is expecting to get him on the field within few days.

“It was very unfortunate,” Rohit said to Cricbuzz. “I haven’t checked on him because after the presentation got over I came here (for the press conference). But he seems to be alright. He has some swelling under his eyes which, I guess, should be okay by tomorrow or day after.”

Ishan Kishan is an integral part of the team. It was in 13th over of the match, that Bumrah bowled to Kohli who hit a pull shot. Hardik Pandya quickly threw it towards the wicketkeeper Kishan which hit him awkwardly on the place. He was immediately out of his role and Aditya Tare came on his place. Mumbai Indians won the match easily, their first win of the season.

“We’ve got a few days before we play the next match – I think 22nd is when we’re playing. So we have three-four days in between where we can assess and hopefully he’ll be fine,” Rohit concluded.

Mumbai Indians will next take on Rajasthan Royals and The team will look forward to seeing Ishan Kishan behind the stumps.
