During the 15th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals’ Rahul Tripathi failed to get the ball past Andre Russell.

An acrobatic catch by the tall West Indian all-rounder had put curtains on Tripathi’s innings. It happened on the final delivery of the 14th over, further denting the Royals’ batting progress.

In a bid to up the ante, Tripathi had placed an inside-out shot off Kuldeep Yadav. Failing to get the desired height on the ball, Tripathi was further affected when Russell jumped full length to grab the catch. His dismissal reduced Rajasthan Royals to 106-4 in 14 overs.

Russell took an acrobatic catch to dismiss Tripathi.

Tripathi, who came in to bat at No. 4 in the ninth over, ended up scoring 15 (11) with the help of two fours. Royals’ move of promoting him up the order did not yield the wished result for them.

Earlier, after being put in to bat by Dinesh Karthik, Royals never really got off to a start that they would have liked. Low run rate and losing wickets at regular intervals did not help their cause either.
