During the 47th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals’ Sanju Samson got hold of a stunner to dismiss Hardik Pandya in the last over.

Earlier Ajinkya Rahane, captain of Rajasthan Royals, had won the toss and chose to field. Rajasthan Royals made three changes to their playing eleven, bringing in D’Arcy Short, Shreyas Gopal and Dhawal Kulkarni in place of Prashant Chopra, Anureet Singh, and Ish Sodhi. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians fielded an unchanged playing eleven.

Hardik Pandya had come in to bat at No. 5 in the 14th over. Standing tall on the expectations bestowed upon him, he played attacking innings which helped his team to put a decent total on the board.

Hardik Pandya got out on the penultimate delivery of the innings when he hit a Ben Stokes delivery high in the air. Sanju Samson, who was fielding at deep mid-wicket, ran a fair amount of distance to his right before diving to take a one-handed air-borne catch. Hardik Pandya ended up scoring 36 (21) with the help of three fours and two sixes.
