During the 43rd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals’ Sanju Samson’s careless running between the wickets saw him getting out in a situation where his team needed him desperately.

After MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat, Chennai Super Kings scored 176-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Suresh Raina, who came in to bat at No. 3, top-scored for his team as he scored his 34th IPL half-century.

Samson was run-out on 22.

In the second innings, Jos Buttler scored his fourth consecutive IPL half-century to steer his team in the chase. Having said that, no support from the other end saw him fighting a lone battle and his team struggling.

On the second delivery of the 12th over, Samson guided a Dwayne Bravo delivery to Suresh Raina at backward point. What followed was Samson watching the ball and his non-striker whilst running up and down on the pitch. As a result of which, he has run-out comfortably by Bravo at the non-striker’s end. He ended up scoring 21 (22) with the help of two fours.
