During the 53rd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Jaipur, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Shreyas Gopal bowled a double-wicket over which literally broke the back of the visitor’s innings.

After Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and chose to bat, Rajasthan Royals scored 164-5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. The Royals posting this total was mainly due to Rahul Tripathi’s career-best IPL performance.

Gopal was introduced into the attack right after the powerplay got over. Bowling his second over, he caused harm to the Royal Challengers after dismissing Parthiv Patel and Moeen Ali in the same over.

On the third delivery of the over, Patel’s attempt to pull the ball saw him missing the ball completely. In the process, his balance took a hit which was cashed in perfectly by the wicket-keeper Klaasen. Patel ended up scoring 33 (21) with the help of three fours and two sixes. Watch the video:

Ali replaced Patel in the middle. On the last delivery of the over, Ali hit the ball back to the bowler to become victim of a soft dismissal. He scored 1 (2). Watch the video:
