During the 18th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab at Kolkata, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Sunil Narine was out cheaply in a bid to up the ante. Not a specialist batsman, Narine has made a significant impact with the bat in hand since opening the batting for various T20 franchises.

Ravichandran Ashwin, captain of Kings XI Punjab, had won the toss and chose to field. Punjab have included Ankit Rajpoot in their playing eleven in place of Mohit Sharma. On the other hand, the home team have fielded an unchanged eleven.

Karun Nair.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who opened the bowling alongside Rajpoot, made early inroads into the Knight Riders’ batting line-up by dismissing Narine in his first over, the second of the innings. It happened on the third delivery of the over when Narine tried to take on the teenager.

He stepped out to play a big shot against a back of the hand delivery bowled by Rahman. Not timing the ball to his liking, he hit the ball to Karun Nair, who ran forward and timed his jump to perfection to complete a sensational catch.
