During the 28th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Jaipur, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 151-7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Despite the fact that the Sunrisers’ bowling unit has defended a couple of even less totals this season, it would not be wrong to say that they missed an opportunity of counting on a decent enough start.

Williamson, captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, had won the toss and chose to bat. Hyderabad have finally handed an IPL debut to Alex Hales. He replaced Mohammad Nabi in the squad. On the other hand, the Royals included Mahipal Lomror and debutant Isha Sodhi in place of Heinrich Klaasen and Shreyas Gopal.

Williamson scored 21 off one over.

Rajasthan Royals’ bowling did not let the opposition batsmen get off to a fierce start. At the end of the powerplay, Sunrisers had scored 39-1. At the halfway mark, they had scored 70-1. It was at this point in time that Alex Hales and Kane Williamson were the set batsmen and at least one of them should have lasted till the end of the innings.

Hyderabad lost wickets at regular intervals which didn’t help their case at all. The wickets had an adverse effect on their run rate, a setback through which they couldn’t get out. Watch how people on Twitter reacted on Hyderabad’s innings:
