KL Rahul’s twin mega-innings against Rajasthan, Match 38 and 40, KXIP vs RR

KXIP’s opener KL Rahul played two splendid innings in the back to back matches against Rajasthan Royals. He scored 80-plus runs in both the innings and remained not out on both the counts. However, one ended in the victory while other ended in a loss.

In the first match played at the Holkar Stadium, Indore. Punjab needed only 153 runs to win but they stumbled in the early part and lost wickets early. KL Rahul took the mantle and notched up his then-highest score of the season as he scored 84 not out from 54 balls and took the team home.

In the return fixture, KXIP had to chase 158. This time Rajasthan came hard on them and did not allow any freedom to score on a difficult pitch. Yet, KL Rahul scored 95 not out in 70 balls only to end up on losing side.
