During the 26th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Delhi, Delhi Daredevils’ Trent Boult bowled bittersweet over in which he conceded a couple of sixes (13 runs in the over) and affected a couple of dismissals as well.

After Dinesh Karthik won the toss and put the home team in to bat, the Daredevils scored a brutal 219-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Their innings was chiefly powered by Prithvi Shaw’s maiden IPL half-century and Shreyas Iyer’s ninth IPL half-century.

In the second innings, Delhi Daredevils’ bowlers created havoc as the Knight Riders’ batsmen fell like pack of cards. Glenn Maxwell, who shared the new ball with Boult, drew first blood after he dismissed Chris Lynn (5) in his first over itself.

Boult’s second over, the third of the innings, saw him beating Robin Uthappa (1) with pace and bounce as he mis-timed a pull to Prithvi Shaw at short midwicket. On the third delivery of the over, Sunil Narine hit Boult for a six over his head to break the shackles. On the next ball, Narine repeated the result as he hit another six over the non-striker.

On the last delivery of the over, Boult came back from behind to get the better of Narine after he failed to cope with Boult’s soaring pace and bounce. Narine ended up scoring an entertaining 26 (9) with the help of one four and three sixes.
